Thanks to all the Cobb owners who posted how good the cobb cookers were. Today we did a trial run at home and cooked a nice big meat joint (with veggies, spuds, tomatos etc.). I have to say that it was so easy and the meal turned out fantastic , with the added bonus of very little washing up/cleaning
I love my Cobb - last time we were away we had baked spuds most nights. I love the idea that you are not confined to stuff that can be cooked in a pan. Might try a chicken later today.
Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another Cobb fan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you had a nice meal. Called in camp shop to day and they had ex display one with no Instructions for £10 so grabbed it.Now ive got it home what do i do. Anyone now of any instructions or cooking tips anywhere. Will do a seach on here but wondered if there was a web site and being Lazy.
Here is a Link that explains the basics of cooking on the Cobb, it is so easy. We currently have a massive chicken on the go with veg etc.. lying back chattin' to neighbours drinking beer and wine and chillin. All the instructions tell you basicaly is how to light it up and the rest is up to you.
The Baked Tatties were covered in foil, we had put 7 beads in as we were cooking a joint of beef. The total cooking time was 1 hr 30 mins, with the tatties placed under the grill around the well.
Did Trout on the Grill (+ sausages for the Kids)with new potatoes and veggies underneath Yesterday, Potatoes were a bit a firm after 1 hour cooking, think I put too much water in the moat as everything else was well cooked, may par boil them first next time.
Roast lamb, potatoes and parsnips with yorkshires today all turned out great. can't wait to do a full roast on the camp site next time we go camping.
got the rest of the lamb in a curry on the cobb at the moment with rice in the well underneath. has anybody tried this? not sure how I'm going to get the rice out without getting ash in it.
Please do tell how you did the Yorkshire puds, thought that we were doing well. There is no end to what can be done on the Cobb, we had never cosidered doing rice, please let us know how is goes.
Wayne, I used Aunt Bessies frozen yorkshire puds which were allowed to thaw out then placed around the joint for last 15 minutes, also put a couple underneath but these got a bit charred.
The rice didn't fully cook after about 90 minutes so I cheated and finished off indoors. The recipe book says it can be cooked in the well but doesn't give any details. I'll probably just cook the rice on the gas next time. the curry slow cooked in a big cassorole dish which rested on the fire guard and was excellent. also a couple of nann breads done like the yorkshires.
My wife's happy cuase she's had a weekend off from cooking.
