As long as you have the correct regulator, yes.

I have had several of these type of "absorbtion"fridges and they are great. You can use them on Butane or Propane with the correct regulator.Camping Gaz have regulators that screw into their bottles a 907 or the smaller 904 and Calor gas have their own regulator that attaches to their own bottle by a threaded nut. Both companies sell their own bottles with different regulators so once you have a Camping Gaz regulator and bottle you keep buying their gas and the same with Calor Gas.It's still gas so either work as these fridges just have a small flame that does the magic of making the fridge work.So yes you can use Camping gas.

Perhaps you could answer my question? When running on 12volts in the car the 12v plug gets very hot(the extension 12volt lead I bought melted the cigar lighter plug)Can you only use them on 12volts with the temp knob turned to the lowest setting or doesn't this effect the amount of current drawn thro the cigar socket?

Thanks for the replies, I already use camping caz with my stove will the regulator on the stove be the same as what is required for the fridge?

Simon, I wouldn't recommend using an extension when running from the car it will draw too much current, you are lucky that it didnt cause a fire.

Yes the regulators for the stoves are identical to the fridge ones. They just deliver the gas at a certain pressure to the stove or fridge.I have a Butane regulator that has been used on my cooker and fridge. Thanks

Yes the regulators for the stoves are identical to the fridge ones.

That's right - the regulator is for the gas and bottle, what you're going to use the gas for isn't important.
