Can`t believe you lot, two pages on a Peg extractor. Go to Halfords  £1.49 , works for me

We bought a Gelert rubber mallet for £2 and it has a sturday brass hook on the end. Works fine

One of our larger bent tent pegs usually works and our larger tent pegs always seem to end up bent. Can't cure hubby of pushing them in with his foot, he can't be bothered with mallets.

OK in soft ground but just doesn't work in hard ground. There's nowt to beat a good peg extractor for making the job easier! Wouldn't be without my two. Recently had one peg defeat me though - really rocky ground & nothing would shift the peg - I ended up having to just hammer it (which itself took some doing) all the way into the ground so it was flush with the ground. It just would not come out. It'll probably still be there for donkey's years!
