For those of you who have a 12 volt power pack.. One of these Led bulbs will light up your tent/ trailer tent, really nice... very low power consumption It will last for years, and at only 170 ma it will last more than a week without recharging your power pack..  they are not much bigger than a car indicator bulb.. so light weight too..

80 All you do is buy the bulb holder, a length of wire & a cigarette plug.. easy...

Attach a length of wire and a cigarette plug, then just plug it into your power pack cigarette socket

Buy from http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=51&products_id=721&osCsid=e1f77fea9e54c406ca471fa1a5f380b4

That's an impressive assembly!

White LED lights are great as work lights but I find the light colour a bit cold and harsh for reading and relaxing.

I bought five of this company's LED head torches a while ago - one for everyone. At £6 each, they are great value compared to the likes of Petzl etc, who will sell you something similar for £30 each. Batteries seem to last for ever, and they are really bright. Recommended.

But Petzl's are completely portable. Head torches are the way to go! Wherever you look the light shines!

Don't have one of these, but do have a nice battery powered LED, which has an adjustable light.  Ideal for when you just need a low light, as well as a decent one.

Head torches are really good i agree, but only for personal use not family..  No good when you need an all-round ambient light in a large tent. I collect LED lighting , i just love them, they give good clean bright light, and have low power consumption!! This type of LED bulb can be strung together so you can light up the main living space and the bedrooms too..

I have a wind up LED torch, it's really good, I would happily recommend LED lighting, but do a gree it's a bit harse if you prefer 'pastel' lighting.

You always put a potentiometer inline.

An electronic component that is used to vary, or control, the amount of current that flows through an electronic circuit. Thats a simple dimmer switch in laymans.

Here's a simple one 113.  or make a shade, or use a gel round the bulb of any colour that you can change to suit your moods...

What about the Coleman Northstar electric? We also have one of these for the living area. Also has a useful nightlight facility for the kids. Only about £30!! See here http://www.singersoutdoors.co.uk/pages/camp_lighting.htm and scroll down

Go to a Car accessory shop, Halfords etc be sure to get the right fitting for the bulb ie. bayonet or single/twin contact ect. Car inicator bulbs are the same fitting too,  One of my friends used a small car lead light that took the same bulbs as the indicators, and just put the LED in that holder..
