Hi!

My son (almost 3) has his heart set on a thomas the tank ready bed.... the ones with the built in quilts......how warm are they??

I dont know anyone with one that i can look at but will they be too cold to use in a tent??  He is generally not one to feel the cold at night and at home refuses to use his covers, which usually results in me covering him up 10 times a night lol but from the pics ive seen they look quite thin.  will i need to use another cover aswell? (im thinking about lack of space in the car)

many thanks

No use for sleeping in a tent at all in my opinion.  Itake my kids away one of whom is three and he sleeps in a wooly tracksuit under a duvet.  Those ready beds are great indoors but that is it.  A good sleeping bag tied in the middle to stop him dissappearing will be a lot better.  Hope it helps

They are fleecy.  Prehaps he could have one of these and another blanket on top when its a bit cooler.  My daugheter seems quite happpy in here Barbie one.  She sounds like your son - kicks the covers off.  Even as a baby the legs would be on top of the covers, and she even threw them out of the pram as she got a little older.  Even in winter.  I even tried those sleeping suits without arms, but she soon learned how to unzip these, and was without covers.
I think that a lot will depend on the degree to which your son feels the cold.

We have used one for our seven yr old for 3yrs now and our lad 3 has used one for a year.  When too hot they sleep with the zip undone and kick off the cover if need be.

We use them for our two. I put their normal sleeping bags inside the readybeds & they sleep really well (used to find youngest asleep on the floor every morning as he rolled off airbed- although it didn't seem to bother him!!)
