Just make sure it's not in direct sunlight ie on the back seat by a window.
Overheat? It must get pretty hot inside the gas lockers of caravans & motorhomes in this weather. The internal temperature in my camper van when I opened the door this afternoon was over 100F (38C). Is this dangerous? I would have thought the cylinders were designed to withstand this.
Depends on the type of cylinder. We bought one in 2003 on the day when the highest temp was recorded in the UK and the guy who sold it to us said not to open it until the day had cooled down. He was moving the aroun as he was worried about the heat.

Absoutely ... the pressure inside will increase a bit, that's all. No risk of any hazards arising. Same with impact resistance - the gas cylinder will be a lot safer than the car's fuel tank.
