Hi, can anyone recommend an electric cool box please? I'm looking for one that is as reasonable as possible (ie cheap) and will run off ehu. All the ones I've seen need an adaptor to run on mains and they cost a packet. Oh, and we can't afford a Combi Cool

Thanks Reedrider - any idea of the product number? I can only see one with the 12v, the mains adapter is separate.

Hi Kat

Pity, but remember coolboxes are pretty useless, when you consider that they only lower the temp by a set amount, with todays temps butter would be off, and any meat would be useless.

Halfords have got some deals on at the moment. Maplins too, Mains power avaiable seperately under £15 if I remember right

That looks quite good, thanks for the link. I don't mind the food so much, it's the bottles of warm Coke and Lemonade that did it for us at the weekend!

Hi Kat

Remember warm coke wont kill you!

Warm flat coke is a great sports drink for endurance athletes, the acidity allows fast absorbtion of the energy, tastes like sh*te though.

Freeze the coke and lemonade solid before leaving home, great way to assist the cooling.

Hi kat, At lidl from monday 18th is a 50ltr mini fridge which is just what you're looking for. Its £49.99 and works off the mains.

They normally retail around £70, It says "stella artois" on them and they have a glass front. Its on a flyer which I picked up in store.

regards simon.

Got one and it keeps items cool but don't overload it so that the air can ciculate to cool items. Just remember that it is designed for keeping cool items cool not make warm items cold
