Anyone ever used the Sunnflair Non Stick Griddle? Saw one in CCC the other day, and thought it might be a useful additional to our ever growing collection of "stuff" !!!
I bought one of these a couple of years ago, it does cook a lovely steak, with a good slightly BBQd flavour, but the middle section moves around too much when you turn the steak over. I eventually replaced this griddle with the much more expensive Campingaz Party Grill, which also doubles as a regular stove.
Got one from Argos for £2.99 a couple of weeks back. I've used it a couple of times and it is a little on the unstable side as there is no handle and when you're turning food you do need to steady the griddle with the other hand. It gets hot so you need an oven glove or something similar. Steaks, kebabs & corn on the cob do come up well, however you need to keep the heat fairly low to avoid burning the food before it cooks in the middle. All-in-all for £2.99 I'm happy, but next time I think I'll just take the griddle pan from the kitchen or a disposable BBQ.
Just tried ours out whilst away in the Lake District - agree with the points made about it being a bit unstable - definitely needed both hands to hold the centre bit in place when turning over. Did bangers and bacon on it for brekkie and I was very pleased with the results, all the fat drained out nicely and the drip tray with water in it caught it all, no problems. The only horrid bit was cleaning it - but that comes with any kind of cooking!
Oh, yuck! Do you mean you actually have to clean these things? Wouldn't dream of going anywhere without the butler for that lol!
Seriously though, have just looked on the Argos website to see what you're all talking about and I rather like the look of it, (supposed to eat low fat for the old arteries sake, so anything that drains the fat away's good for me), so I shall be whizzing up to Argos to get one pdq. Looks lighter than my one I use indoors that does have a handle of course but is also made from cast iron, (feel a hernia coming on everytime I lift it...)
I LOVE this site, but the house is going to pot while I'm on it. Ho, hum!

Why do ya think I take the OH camping with me? What I can't work out is how come I ended up cleaning it when I had also cooked!! We usually have a very fair division of domestic labour (its an Equal Opportunities Relationship!!!)
Ours too is an equal opportunities relationship so the chores get equally divided 99% to hubby and 1% to me! Well maths never was my strong point too busy studying peace, love and paper flower making, (see username!).
