I needa new led headlight for camping and fishing, i have been looking atht tikka and the l3 but am open to options, i currently have a cheapo ron thompson one thats rubbish compared to my mates tikka.

i only really need it for close up work as i have a speleo for longdistance when fishing

Fat Bum has a tikka, and would have no hesitation in recommending it. Nice bright light without being dazzling, easy to angle to the required direction and not heavy to wear.

I have the tikka (I think), best option is the one with the string cord rather than the full headband as it's much more compact.  Also, I have the one with the flashing and different light level options which imho are a waste of time and money, the gf has the blue version which has 3 leds, simple on/off and the same string headband as mine,  was quite a bit cheaper and the better value of the 2.
