Bought one of those £3.99 fold up carriers, 15 ltrs.

Absolutely useless. Any advice on other options would be great.

BTW, what is the idea of the hook(?) hole on these carriers.

Could it be to hang it to one of your horizontal poles perhaps? Only guessing as we're tin tenters but having been brought up with canvas hols before changing to tin tents, I do remember my Dad, (even way back then), having various things 'hanging' all over the place.

Have heard nothing but bad reports about those fold up jobbies, most of them on this site!

We did used to have a great water container, (only recently bit the dust actually-still not happy about that), that was a normal gallon container but it had a tap at the bottom which meant that you could feel like you actually had running water when you stood it on a table! As a child I used to pretend I was pulling a pint, (uncle had a pub). Very useful around the home too in times of water mains having work done - wish hubby hadn't decided to cut a bl**dy hole in it to drain his oil out of the flaming car arrghhh!!!! Will I ever find another to replace it I wonder........

Thanks HC, I had a feeling there was a contraption. I was thinking of a tripod sort of thing.

Anyone seen these?

I have had a blue and white Thermos water flask (loads of litres!) for quite a few years now and it is the business.  I haven't seen them around so much now but it's worth hunting one down.  Igloo do one but it's quite pricey.  It keeps the water cool for ages and is very useful for the journey too.

Whats wrong with recycling a 2litre fizzy pop bottle?

Water's always fresh then, rather than using the 25th Litre in the bottom of the container
