Hi...

Just got a Halfords coolbox..which now looks like it is going to go back after reading reviews on this.. and how good the CombiCool is..

We have a Monty 6 which is a built in groundsheet...how safe is it to run off gas during the night when we are asleep, or is there another trick we dont know about?

Look forward to hearing your advice?

we went away to the elveston rally meet earlier this year, and ran the combicool all 3 nights on gas. in the TT. No problems, and couldn't smell it, there is a flame failure device. My dad who does quite a bit of plumbing said it would be fine, so no probs

Just needs some ventilation, and then it's perfectly safe....plus the only thing that gets hot is the back and only really via the vent pipe/hole on the top.

I also have a question...... mine (whilst running on gas) went out during last weekend, for no apparent reason (no pilot light, no refridgeration- it was ok after I re-lit it)..... is that a common occurence? I also find the self-lighting ignition to be unreliable- it often takes 20 clicks or so to get ignition, of course I can use a match, but it's just a shame it doesn't work itself. Anyone else have this problem?

We find that when we set up on site the fridge is virtually impossible to start on the ignition button and we have to use a match.  After it's been lit once the ignition button works fine (if you need to use it).

Mine has only gone out once when running on gas and I'm pretty sure that was "user error" I think someone tried to adjust the temperature with the "electric setting" button and this shuts it off when you're running on gas.

I've been amazed that it keeps running on gas inside the dayroom when the bottom of the room is flapping around in strong and gusty winds - I expected it to be much less reliable than this.

Thanks for that PigletandTigger .... I'll do as you say- it's quicker and easier with a match anyway. I'll hope it going out was a one off....
