Hi I bought a couple of these and they are brill, I was wondering if anyone knew how long they would run from a power cube, they draw 4 amps in power, that sounds low but is it??

Bought mine from Wollworths reduced in the sale from £60 down to £15 including power pack, so very good value. Have used mine for the last three camping trips. The battery keeps it going on full power for 2hrs 10 mins, my tip, it takes about 1/2 hr to heat up then swith off get in and if you get up in the night for walkies switch it back on  and you get back into a warm bed!!

I'll have to look out for them, never seen them down here, but they sound great for when your not on hook up. We do winter rallying now, so would be ideal.

Wouldn't that be 4 W? 4 amps in my view is a lot. If the blanket would be a 240 V type that would imply some 960 Watts power consumption! If it plugs in at 12 V (if that exists) it would stil be some 48 W, resembling the use if a TV. Reading Georgese5 's answer it suppose the latter, measuring from the power at the power pack where it probably will be reduced to 12 V. So check the values and check the capacity of your power cube to know what is possible.

Hello Folks,

it is a 12 volt fitting, it's From Cabelas last year, it says 4 amp draw, it heats up quickly  and measures 42"x58", it has automatic temp control, I see they are in the sale now.

So that would be 48W. Check the capacity of your power cube and you will know how long it can supply 48W continuously. (divide the Amps by 12 and you know it, apart from the fact that totally exhausting a battery is not good, so deduct some time from the result). Georgese5 advice seems good to me than, although I don't know the capacity of his battery. Don't expect too much, but entering a prewarmed bed on a cold evening is a large gain already.
