we are not happy bunnies we went in our local Lidl Sunday & asked that if possible they put 2 treking poles to one side for us as we wouldn't be able to get in until 6pm today, which they said they would....went in at 6pm only to find the store had only been allocated 10!!!!! so they were not allowed to put any aside....how sad is that,as they knew they were good value & considering how many people subscribe to their internet mailer, let alone the ones who just pop in the store...WE NEED MORE STOCK!

Sounds all too familiar. Have read many threads about this type of "bargain" on this website before!

the mats are the foam type and have an insulating silver fabric on them. Yes i made sure i got there as soon as they opened and just went for it. Ive seen the treking poles today at 17 pounds reduced from 25 pounds at a hiking shop so it looks like i got a bargain.

I bought one of the inflatable airbeds from Lidl and tried it out last week (its the one that comes apart, makes either two singles or a double) one problem we had was that we couldnt use it as a double as the fit in the sleeping area was pretty tight, I was worried it may have ripped the zip or something The other problem was that when we split it in to two singles my daughter then slept on it, and in the morning the airbed was found to be quite wet and the cold was striking up through to her sleeping bag. She had an insulated mat underneath as well. Our double air bed however was fine, the good old red and blue ones from Argos, no problems, comfy and dry!  stick to argos and not for the flock covered from Lidl

The small multi tool things are good too. £1.99 and it does most things a swiss army knife would and also comes with various screwdriver heads/hex heads too. Should be useful alongside the duck tape in the camping box
