Hi Enjen,

I think you will find that they are just luminous guy ropes. We buy the Outwell luminous guys from Yeomans, and find them good and strong.

What about just wrapping those nice rope light thingies around 'em and wiring your black guys up to the mains?

Now that would be glow in the dark........ and everso pwitty!

Point of info, Luminous and Flourescent are often confused.

Luminous objects are those that emit light on their own and thus 'glow in the dark' 

Flourescent objects convert non-visible UV light into visible light and thus appear brighter than they should be in daylight. These objects do not 'glow in the dark'

I have seen fluorescent guy lines, but not luminous ones.  I would definitely replace black lines though - anything has got be be better than that!

Oh srnet, you'rs so-o-o knowledgeable....where would we be without you and Wizard and Michael? lol

My hubby is beginning to rethink this calling me the non-technical member of our outfit, since I've been passing on all this useful info from ukcs...not telling him where I'm learning it all though!

Still think my rope lights around the guys would brighten up the place though eh? Nice twinkly pwitty ones

Does that mean I want flourescent guys, and that you can't get luminous ones (should have realised the difference thinking about it looking at the actual words)

The gist of it is I obviously need something other than black guylines.  I am actually rather taken with Hippy Chick's idea, but we don't do EHU in the tent.

Has anybody elses tent ever come with stupid colour guys, nearly everyone on our last camping trip remarked on the fact that our tent came with black guy ropes??.

Sunncamp come with dayglow yellow gut ropes.

But we just use glo-sticks around the guys that we are likely to walk beside during the dark hours.

At least hippy chick should be happy with our solution! lol

I like to sit outside on fine nights and just watch the stars.

Not sure I would want a campsite lit up like blackpool illuminations at night.

I did the same thing Scampi.  I got my daughter (aged 14) out of bed at 3am (she was awake already) just to loo at the sky.  She was also star struck - literally - and although I couldn't name anything other than the Plough it was a memorable experience.  We don't get to see much over the lights of Heathrow airport!
