Hello there from sunny devon.

Any advice would be appreciated.

We are complete newbies to caravanning and have recently purchased our first little van, she is an old Lunar clubman 390-2, and although slightly tatty & battered at the moment, will we hope, give us and our 2 dogs many a quiet break on our favourite site (with of course a spot of fishing!)

We are looking to add an awning to our caravan but the fact that i'm disabled is restricting our budget somewhat. We were given an old awning by a very kind gentleman that seems to fit ok, but unfortunately there are no poles with it, Our nearest caravan accessories shop have quoted £15 for ONE adjustable pole, Yes, that's FIFTEEN pounds for a 6ft aluminium pole!!?? - which we need 8 of, plus all corner bits etc, which when totalled up comes to well over £150.00 which unfortunately is beyond our means.

Any advice on where to look for poles at fair prices etc would be great, - or if anyone has an old set of poles tucked away in the shed gathering dust that they wish to sell at a fair price, even better.

Many thanks in advance.

Grub.

Had you thought about looking on Ebay, you may well pick up a nice cheap awning for your van complete.

Hiya grub. Have you looked on the ukcs For Sale boards for a cheapy complete awning?

Some of them are ultra cheap, (no good looking at our one that's on there as it's £220 I'm afraid, which is still less than half the price of a brand new one mind you).

And sometimes......you honestly do get lovely folk just wanting to give things away totally free simply coz they haven't got storage space.

Must say, I've never heard of someone getting rid of an awning minus all the poles! Strange

My name's hippy chick and I am a ukcs addict......

What manufacturer has it come from? Does it say? Most manufacturers hold stock of even long-discontinued poles so they may be able to help.

Many thanks all for the response.

Yes, i will keep my eyes peeled on ebay, unfortunately there does'nt seem to be a label/tag on the awning for me to get in touch with the manufacturer to enquire about the poles.

Thanks again all - being a newbie to ukcs i never knew that a For Sale board existed, so will have a look there too.
