 Once you get the knack its sooo easy to use.

 To use you fill the tank, then pump pressure into the tank, open the valve, light and you're away.

  I have never used coleman fuel, why bother, no probs with unleaded, and as you say you can always find a garage for petrol.

 Good luck with your purchase, im sure that you will be very happy with it.

These are designed to run on unleaded - the only difference when compared with Coleman fuel is that it contains all the additives needed for a car engine and therefore burns "dirtier" - although you won't actually notice any difference to either the flame or the smell.

It only becomes apparent when, after many uses, the generator tube (a replaceable part - around £12) becomes sooted up and blocks quicker thus needing to be changed slightly more often.

And yes, you do have to pressurize it by pumping (remembering to keep your thumb covering the hole in the end of the pump and turning it a half-turn or so to open up the check valve inside the pump assembly - all the instructions are included with the stove and they're an absolute doddle to use).

We take ours to the beach in the autumn / winter when not camping and have bacn sarnies at the weekends after the kids have finished playing - using the £5 JML Hob top griddle which fits over both burners perfectly and transfoms the whole thing into a very powerful and very economical BBQ - marvellous!  Best bit of camping gear I've ever bought.

just one thing though - how much pumping do you need to do exactly ?

You start with around 30 strokes , light it, then pump another 20 or so (you'll feel the resistance start to build up and notice the flame roaring more powerful) - after that, it's pretty much self-pressurizing when it's up to temperature (after a minute or so).

The only exception I've found is when you're running low on fuel - obviously you need slightly more pumping (as there's more air-space) and you need to keep it pressurized a bit more yourself.

Hi

Could someone help me please ??  I have been going berserk trying to find a place to purchase a spare pump washer for my Coleman Dual Fuel double burner.  Most camping shop assistants just glaze over with a thousand yard stare.

Obviously, I don't want to spend £8 or £9 on postage for something which weighs about 5 grammes.

Any suggestions most welcome.

hlk01 - just did a google and came up with this, not sure about postage though, but might be worth an investigate.
