I have the digi box under the front drawer/table unit in the caravan and the coax leads go through the wall into the gas locker

I just wrap them (2 for Sky+) round a plastic H section cable reel and I have two plastic sleeves that fit over the F connectors.

Haven't had any problem with damaged coax but the F connectors do tend to need re-tightening occasionally.

Hi Briarose,

I have an  aluminium pole that I put in the jockey wheel clamp when we are not facing the right direction to use the jockey itself.

Only on rare occasions do I need to use the tripod and mine is one of the ones with a plastic top marked with points of the compass .It has screw like a dog tether to put into the grass but you cold use a similar idea to guy the dish you have.

My friend has his own roof top aerial.

He has glued a 1 ft square of metal (with a tube in the centre)  onto the roof of the van .He gets his step ladders out  from under the bed, opens the Heki roof light, throws out the end of a ball of string to attach to the coax cable.

He then mounts the dish onto the roof plate and from the inside of the caravan atop the stepladder he finds the satellite.

His name is not Heath Robinson by the way

Hi there

I don't know if anyone is interested but I have just disposed of my 12 inch TV in favour of my laptop. I take my laptop to watch DVD's and download photos etc. Recently I bought a small gadget that turns my my laptop into a freeview TV as well. I have the tiniest motorhome so space is very valuable. I have a superb picture but can't be sure of reception everywhere. See the gadget below. If you look up the thread 'Freeview TV via laptop' on Motorhomes a few weeks ago, you'll see all you need to know
