Hi All

Has anyone fitted a Fiamma Turbovent or similar into their van ? I am thinking of doing just that with a veiw to leaving it on at night to draw cool air in to the interior  after one of those long hot summer days when its too warm to sleep properly(shouldn't need it too often then) Are they easy to fit ? do they run quietly ? and is it worth paying the extra for the thermostatic version? Thanks in advance.

I am about to do the same (well in spring when its warmer). I asked in the caravan section about the omnivent version and got lots of positive replies.see:-

The hardest part seems to be getting the old mastic off, thats why I am waiting until spring as it comes off easier in the warm. Most comments from other caravaners with powered vents are that they could not live without them.

The Omnivent is a direct replacement for any standard 400cmx400cm vent if you have 12v powerat the vent. I have looked at mine (2005 sprite major 5) and the cables are already in the roof so its easy.

Hope this helps

Pete

We had an Omnivent factory-fitted in our van when we got it, it is very useful.  Good for drawing out steam and cooking smells, ventilating the shower-room after showering, and keeping cool.  Very noisey on full power, ok on medium and quiet enough to leave on all night on low.
