On two other forums I'm part of everyone is running out to Kwiksave or Somerfield to buy a Garmin GPS at around half price £99 I think.
I'm not into GPS so I can't comment personally, but they all seem very chuffed and are playing away like good uns.
Thought this list should know.

I seem to discover some nice places in the countryside  while lost driving around  looking for the campsite. If I had gps that wouldnt happen anymore, besides you get more of a sense of adventure when you are totally lost.

totally agree, getting lost, or "exploring" is more fun.
It's just that I know some people here are into GPS.

I also like "reading" a real paper map.

would be handy to keep in the boot and turn on as a last resort though once you start chain swearing.

Garmin Streetpilot i3. is not a bad bit of kit, basic but very usable and a great price.
