My two children were bought DVD players for Christmas. They are absolutely wonderful for long journeys (all our relatives live from 2 to 4 hours away)No more do we suffer the 'Are we there yet...' whinges!!
We got the one from Amazon that is a portable DVD, TV and has a games console built in. They are a lot more expensive though £150. We don;t take it camping anymore as such, but it passes away the time in the car for the kids. They are great to have.
Hubby has been "on about" getting something like this for a while now and I've managed to go deaf to it. Now he's read this message and has started again!!! Any tips or pros/cons as to what make/model etc. to go for (or to avoid) would be welcomed. Can't afford to buy a luxury (to us anyhow) item and end up with a turkey.
Thanks in anticipation of lots of useful replies!!!!!
I saw a Goodmans one in tesco today for £49.99. 7" screen. Was tempted but our littlun got car sick watching one in a friends car so thought better of it and it doesn't work at getting her to drift off to sleep in the evening like it seems to with my mates kids. She has to put the telly on in their room every night to get them sleep!!! So we needed a DVD player when we went away with them last year. Only thing was is kept mine awake.
our 3 kids have a small 5" each....handy for those moments at home. they take them camping too. We've even got an 8" and strap it between the seats and they watch the same thing
