When we bought the van it had a new Whale Aquasource mains water hookup connection with it, we have booked for fully serviced pitch at Easter and wonder would it be ok to use this, we have looked at the Aquaroll type of mains connection and they are £42 They said at the caravan place today that it was not a good idea to use the direct type as they will flood van, any experience ?

Just found out that I can search for stuff and looked up the Whale hook up on there thanks

I use an Aquasource in both our Pennine Pathfinder and now our Sprite. Never had any problems. They have a pressure reducer so the risk to the pipes is small. I don't think it will stop me from using one. I think the are great.

I've just thought, why can't you use a small tank, like the header tank for central heating, with a lid, parked under the van? Fit it with a ballcock and feed it from a mains source on a serviced pitch. Then use a submersible pump like those used on an aquaroll. That way if anything went wrong with the system it will all run out on the ground and not affect the 'van. When empty, the tank could be used for storage while travelling so would not be a total waste of space. Just a thought!!!
