and wondered if one they are what im after lol and if they are do people put insulation under the airbed or between the airbed and yourself?? at the moment we wake up and the flock on the airbed is damp (due to heat and cold heat ect ) any ideas??
different people have different ways of tackling layers and airbeds. I use an insulated picnic rug between the double sleeping bag and the airbed and the same between the airbed and the bedroom floor. This could be overkill but they dont take up much space and it works for us. Those rugs in the link are probably very similar to insulated picnic rugs and about the same price.
we use those roll mats (that some people actually sleep on) uner the airbed and a fleece blanket between the airbed and the sleeping bags...OH, who did all that duke of edinburgh malarkey always says one on the bottom is worth 2 on the top...However, I also insist on a duvet and another fleece blanket ontop of the sleeping bags...He dispairs at me but I've never been cold yet, thank goodness!
I use an old sleeping bag on top of the airbed on cold trips...the vintage nylon type that unzips completely. Fitted sheet on top to stop it slipping around. In summer I just use the fitted sheet because our main sleeping bags provide plenty of insullation.
If you are cold put it under you on top of the air bed, to reduce the condensation on the airbed (which you mentioned) put it between the groundsheet and the airbed.

We don't use anything like that on our fc beds but it look's ideal to have under our matteress during colder camping trips will shoe the wife and see what she thinks.cheers julesrush
Old open cotton sleeping bag on top of airbed for us, it doesn't slip around either, use that with sleeping bags in winter, or a duvet in summer, works really well.
Bed mats under the airbed to reduce condensation, insulated picnic blanket between mattress and sleeping bag to reduce the chill-factor from that body of air beneath us.
OH finds this plenty- I am of more delicate substance and end up with thermal PJs, socks, hat, fleece liner etc etc etc
We bought some very cheap (£5.00 each) rectangle sleeping bags from Aldi. On the cooler nights we put our regular sleeping bags inside one of these. Of course we could go and spend lots on better sleeping bags but this works great and gives you extra all round insulation.
