Rule of thumb concerning Freeview.
If you can pick up Channel 5, it is very likely you will receive freeview. If you want technical details, local transmitters, look here:
Digital TV
Anglesey is 13 miles from your local transmitter, your postcode will determine the exact distance. Hills and tall buildings will effect reception. The higher the aerial, the better. Which also needs to be high gain.

Asda have freeview boxes for £28, and you can return them within 28 days for a no quibble refund. Basically, nothing to loose.
Don't scrimp on cable either. DIY off the reel white cable is no good. It has to be digital cable, preferably CT100 quality.
I have a load of it for 50p a metre plus P&P. Hi grade digital RG59 twin shielded black. Can supply coax/f connectors as well.
