Hello all

Just wondered if anyone has any experience of this usefull piece of camping equipment.

Looking for a small compact and reasonable alternative to the wonderfull bucket.

Compared to the Thetford offering the small version of this seems to be a bargain.(Towsure £39.99)

As I am fast running out of space in the estate and am desperately trying not to go down the Trailer/Roof Box route do you think this would be suitable or is it worth going for the thetford.

No sweat matey.

I got a fiamma bipot 1520 cos I wanted the seat height and this would clearly be bigger.

I am 5' 8" by the way.

Also with family of 5 it still only last about 2-3 days between emptying so I guess it depends how many of you there are and if you use it for night time only etc. We go to some sites without toilet facilities so that 2-3 days is using it as you're only facility.

BTW I also have an enormous roof box to fit it all in.

The Fiamma looks good see what you mean about the height - does it come apart for transportation?

Price looks pretty sensible too.

Thanks for the input

Another great option - although over £20.00 for a bucket with lid seems a little much - but then so does £70.00 for two square buckets with lid.

Will add this to the mix.

Thanks for the input.

Dear Kanno

Thanks for the response but the link is only showing the towsure page with a blank product.

Which product are you talking about.

Kanno means the thetford 345 porta potti you should see it if you scroll down the page.

RE Your question about splitting the potty - all the two chamber ones split in two so you can fill/empty separately.

You could use it in two halves travelling outbound but coming home it would need a thorough clean first - I leave it in one on the way home.

Also you need a hose to fill from the tap (only short but so you don't hold the loo up to the tap)

Have you looked at the PETT system? Best space saver option IMHO.

winhill you are just an oracle when it comes to all things related to above. Thanks once again for the info, have looked at the Pett great system but pretty pricey!!!

I am beginning to think height is the main factor - all that bending (squatting) down to the smaller loos may be a little uncomfortable.

Comments on a postcard please!!!!! as we seem to know be getting into the detail.

We've got the small Thetford loo - it's not too much squatting down really - and you want to see the space we've got to do it in too!

The only thing I would advise, if you do get the Thetford, is go for the one with the indicator on the front. The last one we had didn't have one and you have to guess when it needs emptying.

But never fill the toilet (top or bottom tank) from the fresh-water tap.  Most sites will have a tap by the chemical disposal point for rinsing toilets and filling top tanks. If not, use a bucket or watering can to carry the water from the tap to the toilet - never take the toilet to the fresh-water tap.  (sorry if you know this, but you'd surprised how many people aren't aware this is a no-no!!!)
