I would like to use my laptop as a dvd player and have bought an inverter for it to run off a leisure battery.
I don't really want to use my fitted leisure battery as I want to conserve its power for lighting etc.
I do have a spare leisure battery and want to attach the inverter to this. The only problem is that the inverter has a cigarette lighter plug on the end that would attach to the battery. Can I somehow 'convert' this cigarette lighter to be able to attach the inverter to the terminals of the spare battery. I still want to keep the cigarette lighter as an option to be able to re-charge the battery on the move.
Thanks
Bremda
Yes, that's no probs, Brenda. They make a lead with 2 croc. clips on one end and a cig. lighter thingy on the other. Can't remember where I got mine from. I think it was a car equipment shop.

Thanks folks,
The 'thingie' is just the job.
Now all I need is a cheap battery charger to charge my 2nd leisure battery and I'll be happy !!
I have a phobia about running down my main leisure battery as when we first got the van we didn't test the leisure battery and went to Spain as soon as we got the van.
We had a flat leisure battery each day. We thought that it was a dud battery and bought a new one Then we found out when we got home after two weeks that the relay from the fridge wasn't working properly and draining the battery.
That's why we now have two leisure batteries.
Thanks again
Brenda
Brenda, there used to be a bloke that posted here, I think his name is George,I'll try and dig up one of his old posts, he is a very clever chap with leisure batteries, charging & inverters.
