That's what I thought re. the sockets but think I could live with that. Must surely fit even with a bit of a struggle and think thats worth the saving in pennies!
They work fine. I have 3 of these, 1 of them is with the awkward upwards fitting sockets, but we have always managed with it. It only becomes awkward when we want to plug something like a mobile phone charger in because that sticks out a bit at the top and bottom.
Thats like my one. I posted a thread about having trouble getting plugs to fit the sockets. Ordinary ones are fine...but the big black ones attatched to DVD players, pumps, TV's etc are longer and therefore do not fit! Howerver I got round this problem by using them with 'double adaptors' hence raising the long plugs from the unit. Not ideal... I am considering buying a single socket EHU and using a very short 4x socket extension cable so everything fits. Bare this in mind if you are buying an EHU for modern gadgets!

I think theres one of those still on ebay at the moment but dont know what the price is up to yet, I enquired as to which way the plugs were but want the other one so havent bothered bidding.

I hate to say it, but ABC Camping sell them. I have no doubt that others do as well and someone will soon be along to say where, but I got mine from there.
That's the second comment I've seen about abc camping in less than a week now lol, I was planning to go there as it's quite close - should I not bother.....?
There has been a lot of bad press on here regarding ABC, never experienced it myself but there are just too many stories to feel completely safe. I have only ever bought a couple of things ( big things come to that ) from ABC and not had a problem, but I have never had to use their customer services or anything like that and it seems that is where the problem lies.

Excellent price, but it looks like its the one with the awkward positioned plug sockets. But, for that price I would live with that.
Just turn the sockets though 90 degrees. I have done same mod for our daughters unit. Easy enough to do. I did post instructions on here once but that was a long time ago.

I tried that with our one, but unfortunately on ours the sockets are not symmetrical. Turning them round is like putting a square peg in a round hole, they are not a perfect square.
