YEP! and the sad thing is there is nothing (at the moment) that can be done to stop them!
Believe it or not there is NO regulation covering EHU's for tents.Just recomendations such as posted here on this site by Ratty & Co.and also on the C&CC of GB site.
The current wiring regulations only apply as far as the campsite hook up post which MUST be provided with a Residual Current Device (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker)

It's perfectly legal!
We use this type of thing in industry all the time! In the dry and indoors on the factory floor. All the items used have there own BS number so nothing illegal about it!
JUST NOT SUITABLE FOR CAMPING!

NO it isn't! Provided that the correct protective device is used and the length does not exceed 15mtrs. Believe it or not the one above complies!Hey! don't get me wrong I'm not in anyway condoning the use of these death traps. I'm just pointing out that they are legal If used for what they are designed for and that does NOT include EHU for tents. As I said earlier there are NO regulations on tent EHU only RECOMENDATIONS.
Hi all, glad to see i'am not the only one who thinks these EHU on e-bay are deathtraps, but there some which are ok if you find the rightones, we had one which all the british safte marks and put together right and as a sparkie i no it was safe to use.
I made my own. I trust my own workmanship and knowledge much more than I trust anyone else's. I also made a test rig to check that the ELCB works, and it gets tested before each camping trip.

although not illegal it certainly shouldn't be used for camping. Not sure what good it will do but I've reported them to ebay. If everone else does this it might make them remove item!

Well we can try.
To be honest from what I've seen and read about e bay you have more chance of platting fog!
best we can do is to educate people through this forum and hope no one gets a fatal shock.
Sorry to sound so negative but it's fact.
