We are looking at three possible recharegable lighting options. Has anybody used them? We're particularly interested in the recharging time (we'll be plugging into our EHU) and how long the charge will last. The main purpose of the lighting will be for reading - any additional comments.

We have the Ring and couldnt really recommend it for reading by. I dont think any of the rechargable tubed type give off a strong light. We only use ours for sitting outside and chatting or getting to the loo at night The initial charging time is 12 hours but we are in the habit of using ours all evening and charging it up during the day while we are out so couldnt say how long it lasts or how long it needs charging for from dead. There is however a green light that comes on when it is fully charged.

How about Solar garden lights as a form of rechargable. We picked up soem from TEsco last year. Outside durign the day and then bring inside at night for reading etc. Not too bright as dont want to wake kids.
