Has anyone bought any of theses storage bags from pack-mate?  They come with a five year guarantee so I am tempted.

i got mine from wilkinsons,it had a small and large bag for £4.99.   i use the big one for putting my sleeping bag in when i go backpacking.it goes quite flat so i can position it against the back of my backpack so takes up less room, and also keeps it dry.the small one i use for small toiletries.mandy

I bought a similar one from John Lewis.  My spare duvet lives in it.  Very effective.  I hadn't thought of using them for camping trips but it's a great idea littlejen.  I've got one of those air pump inflater/deflater things that works off the car battery...wondering if it would work on one of these??

If you are taking them on camp you need the ones that roll up not the ones that rely on the vac cleaner, unless you take vac with you.

Great for taking far more clothes than you need

I bought a couple of these "space sacks" from Makro today and they seem to be the answer to my problem of packing bulky items into my motorcycle trailer.I'd previously had trouble cramming things like duvets and pillows in, but after a dry run this evening I've compressed two double duvets, two fleecey under-sheets and two pillows to the size and consistency of a giant waffle with the aid of the Dyson. How I'll fare in the heat of battle with my 12v blow/suck device is another matter.

Hi

Weve used these for several years and have just replaced the cheap N cheerful worn out ones with ones from Matalan - £7 for 3 or £10 for 6.  Will let you know whats its like in the morning.

When you are away youll find that gently sitting on them then rolling over them, or a few bums works very effectively.  Theyre great for pillows and towels etc.

Hi

Matalan ones seem to be fab.

I put a cushion in the small one last night and 'squeezed' the air out.  It has not moved this morning and is as flat as last night

I use strong black rubbish sacks tied with elastic bands. Works just as well and much cheaper! And if you do make a hole in one you can always use it as a rubbish sack!!
