The Vango Astral 350 comes in an extra large size....my Hubby is 6`4" so he has one. He`s only about 14 stone so doesn`t need it for width, but  if I remember the specs correctly it`s 110 cm wide, so unless your bloke measures more than 220 cm round he shoould be fine.

It`s a very good quality bag too, btw. I`ve got the standard size.(Bit shorter, 90cm wide.) The two of them zip together with R/H-L/H zips even though they are different sizes. They`ve kept us very warm on some pretty cold nights, and the square end bags are not nearly so claustraphobic as mummy bags.

Put it this way, if he measures more than me round the rear end he really DOES need to get on the treadmill, and I`m fine in the 90 cm bag.

The Astrals are pretty popular bags on this forum and rightly so IMHO. Just make sure you get the zips to match up the correct way for how you like to sleep (if you intend to zip them together at any point) because they`re not reversible with these hoods.

Millets are (or were) doing a 2 for 1 offer on sleeping bags so I got them and zipped them together to make one big one for me.  They are only one season bags (£12) but I hate being too hot and it's easy to add layers if you're chilly. I camped on Wendesday night and was warm enough.

I don't fit in a standard sleeping bag because I'm pretty much a Gorilla (only with more body hair :-)).  At my widest point (chest) I'm 52" but if I wanted to get my arms in my sleeping bag too then I'm looking at 62" (that makes me 5' 2" in circumference)

I could lose a bit of weight (couldn't we all?) but even at my fittest, cycling 20 miles a day to get to and from work, I was roughly the same dimensions and about 16-17st, I'm 19.5 stone now after eating all the pies

I'm not sure I should say this - but I've just put two Gelert 300 square bags on ebay (I did have them in the "for sales" on here a couple of times first!).  They're very similar to the Astral 350 in size and warmth. We used them for 2 nights last year when we went away and forgot the sleeping bags.  Mammammia - I'm also in North Wales.

1 RHS zip one left so they can make a HUGE double. I'm not small >17st on occasion but when 2 are zipped together  there is plent of room for me, my wife and in the mornings (or 'scary nights') the two kids (2 and 4 yrs). For sleeping in they are great however there are drawbacks, the size means that they overhang a double lilo (which may or may not me an issue), the main problem though is that when packed they take up considerably more space than standard ones.

Vango astral 350, fab I am a large one, so is hubby (he is tall, I am a big un). These are great and warm and loads of room, just ordered some for the kids as well as they cannot stay in theirs as to restrictive and they like to wriggle. Highly recomend them they are fab and very good quality!
