I haven’t actually seen compression bags for sale. You could try vacuum pack storage bags for pillows etc – e.g. the sort you squeeze the air out of valves on one end of the bag. We have a couple of these we plan to use for our first camp – to help get everything in the car.
Last year we had 2 2 sleeping bags in each. By the time we got to cornwall one had re inflated. So on the way home I had the bright idea of putting all 4 bags in one vacum bag. All was going well until I tried to seal it. Ripped the bugger. 2 bags not working. Still some duct tape soon fixed it but didn't bother to try to suck the air out. At least all 4 bags are in one. This year we bought a roof box.
Vacuum bags - reduced volume in back of car tremendously. Used the vac to suck out air going, and just rolled on the bag then sealed to come back. Still worked well. Need to be a bit careful when doing the rolling - leave a small gap in the seal, roll and then seal fully. We have taken 2 layer duvet and 4 pillows in one vac bag. Carol
Ha ha good old Vac bags. I had the brilliant idea of putting stuff in them to fit more under the bed in the drawers, guess what happened........................yep I had got air into it so I cant open the drawer to get it out!!

Anyone have an answer because i'm looking into these now having bought a lovely thick double sleeping bag for this year but it takes up loads of space!
I thought the vacuum ones wouldn't be any good once you got there as I am putting my foot down about taking a hoover with me!!!!
Couldn't get our pump to seal sufficiently well to suck air out of the vac bag. Just OH rolling on the bag and me sealing worked pretty well - obviously not as good as a vacuum cleaner, but well enough to reduce the size of the bag quite a lot. Carol
Pillows? Buy camping ones that go into a tiny stuff sac. Very comfortable and save a ton of space.
As for compression bags...get a good quality bin liner, put item inside, hold the neck of the bag almost closed then get the heaviest member of the family to lie on the bag till as much air as possible is out. Seal with tape round neck of bag. Not reusable for this, but you can use the bag for the rubbish on the campsite if you cut the neck off.
