I am after a good quality and warm double size sleeping  bag.  Can anyone reccommend a good one.  I want to be warm while i sleep.

Hi...and welcome to the site...!

We have two Vango Escape 350s zipped together...They are three season bags and we have used them in October and January and never feel cold...We also have roll mats under the air bed and a cotton sheet between the bags and the top of the air bed and are always snug.

Hi, we've not yet been camping but just went to buy our sleeping bag this morning. We've bought 2 Wynnster Trail Explorers. They are the rectangular bags that can zip together to make a double. They felt lovely and thick and we were told they would be suitable for Apr - Oct (when it's hot I guess we'll just leave it unzipped and use like a blanket.

We went for these as they were generously sized singles so will be a generous double which is what we want. The bags are not the smallest you can get - they are rectangles and have a fleecy fabric on one side so they can double as pillows if you stuff with a jumper etc.

We've just bought a Coleman Hudson Double: seems well made, and I like the fact that it comes in a compression sack - for luggage space saving. We bought from Wildday £39 (came the next day), but Gooutdoors are doing it for £35 (but they were out of stock a few days ago).

Will you let me know how they are on a trip please as my Mrs was looking at the exact same ones today they look really cosy as she doesn't like the Mummy style bags.

P.s Fashion tip.... Change the bag they come in, It looks like a huge Shortbread tin  lol.

gsm - grams per square inch of stuffing ... higher the nuber warmer it is .  300 should be enough for summer,  but this is quite a personal thing.. what rating were you borrowing, and were they warm enough ?

We use Outbound ones which are 400gsm - I wouldn't go any lower than this unless I was somehwere very warm - but I feel the cold easily.

Theres a good deal at cybercheckout  here  which works out at £29.00 including delivery for a double 400gsm, that can also be used as 2 singles.  The seem quite a good size too at Size is 210x170cm  ( or 85cm wide each) .
