We use 'Coleman' cotton flannelette ones in the Spring/Autumn. They can make the difference between a chilly & a warm night and they're a good size 2m. x 1m... In the Summer, just plain white cotton liners...
I've just bought 2 single silk liners from ebay. They were £6 each using "buy it now". I bought them as our sleeping bags are a bit bobbly on the inside. Going to try them out next weekend.
Don't know how to put a link in, but they've got some more on ebay, under the following title:
PURE SILK SLEEPING BAG LINER TRAVEL SHEET SLEEP SACK
They also have doubles for £9.99
Postage is £3.99 for a single (1.99 for subsequent ones), £4.99 for a double. But they are coming from Singapore. Mine arrived in about 4 days so they're prtty quick.
Don't know how warm they'll be but they feel gorgeous! And they come in really small bag and actually fit back in once they've been out! There's a pillow sleeve on them as well, so your head is resting on silk as you sleep..isn't that supposed to make your hair all shiny and helps stop your hair getting knotty?
Hi,i thought about getting these but there not cheap from what ive seen so i had an idea.I went to Ikea brought 2 fleese blankets and got my mum to sew together, there really thick and only cost £2.50 each.I think it was a great idea and cant wait to try it out.
Without considering cost you would just buy all three of them wouldn't you?
If you want warmth then get proper microfleece.
Silk/cotton ones are just so you don't have to wash a sleeping bag, or if borrowing/hirihng bedding or if it's really hot and you want to cover your modesty.
------------- A wise man learns from his own mistakes - a genius learns from the mistakes of others
As recommended by someone else on here, we bought the Khyam fleece sleeping bags - blimey they came in handy last weekend.
Didn't seem that cold, so went with our standard bags, come 3AM it was evident it was cold, extracted them from the other bedroom, and nice and toasty - fleece hood you can wrap around your head and neck is genius.
We use a double duvet cover I just turned it insideout, unpicked each side down to about 22" and fitted a zip each side so it's easier to get out of. Works fine.
A lot of the reason for using camping gear, rather than domestic gear, is the saving on weight and space. If it isn't a problem then anything suitable will do.
