Thinking about getting a gas lamp from Lidl's (or similar type) the question I have is: If I were to hang it from the centre of my Quadspace, would the heat it produces damage the fabric?

I fancy gas as they seem brighter than the equivalent battery type lamps, any advice would be most helpful.

We have a Camping Gaz lantern and it does tend to kick out a lot of heat, I'd be very nervous hanging it from the center hook in our Diablo. I stand mine on a table, the model we have has a wide base for stability. We find this provides more than enough light as well as the added bonus of warming up the tent!

I've hung mine in a caravan awning, but on a long butchers hook, I would be very cautious about hanging it near the dome of a nylon (or whatever they are made of nowadays) tent.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

I have a dual fuel, and it does give off a fair amount of heat, as well as a decent light.   I stand it on the table, and it give Ricard and I a bit of extra warmth when we're playing cards when the kids are in bed.
I'd be very wary about hanging it near a nylon tent.
