hey smeganb

what are the chairs like that you mentioned from the range?. We saw a few in our shop about 6 weeks ago now, went back to buy them (didn't have the cash on us at the time) and they'd gone.  They were a lightweight aluminium, deckchair type material, recliner (no leg rest just a chair) with a cushion attached for your head. well we saw some more like it in there tonight but they were the lounger types and not so comfy, we  asked about the others and the manager said he bought the last one and that they weren't getting anymore in, they were about £20. They were so comfy, if they are the same ones your store have got in it might be well worth a trip there.

cheers

Thanks for the light links.

nic.ade, there were several different styles of chair ranging from the £12.99 one through a £17.99 one with rigid arms to a "top of the range" £22.99.

Our local branch is in Kidderminster and, how can I put this, the ability to display the price of specific goods in the store has considerable room for improvement. Having spent about 15 minutes match the barcode number on the price sign to that on the chairs tag I can offer this (but bare in mind my newbie status and relative inexperience)

The £12.99 chair folded into it.s case well, it was a little heavy but that's because the tubing was a little thicker. The armswere fabric and the right one contained a net to hold a drink. The canvas seat was sturdy and took my 15 stones well. The beauty of this design was the ability to set the rear legs / back rest into one of three positions - from upright to fairly chilled. They didn't have a cushion attached and were brown and fawn in colour and as a bonus there were mini-me child versions for £5.99 each. We've already bought the kids, I need to go back and get thethe OH's and mine.

The other options were more expensive, all had rigid arms, no cup holders and didn't offer the reclining option On Wednesday there were about three or four boxes left.

Hi Rich,

If you are still looking for a table - we got this one last year. It has two heights, a plastic top so its dead easy to wipe down, and it packs flat. My only criticism is that I'm tall and its a bit low when I'm doing the washing up! Its big enough for 4 - a good buy.

Have you thought about something to put your stove on when cooking?  We have one like the KC027 on this link...

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/redirect.asp?redir=http://www.towsure.com/default.asp?t=342

It's alot easier to cook standing up and it gives you somewhere to store all the pots and other stuff.  We use a collapsible crate on the bottom shelf to create more space.  Before we bought a utility tent we used a barbecue cover from B&Q to protect it all from the rain.

Collapsible crates make good cheap storage for inside the tent too, it's amazing how much stuff you have that you need to put somewhere!

Hello Richard

If you are still looking for tables and chairs, Tesco Extra have folding directors' style chairs for £3.97 and aluminium tables (sorry, didn't note the price as we have 3 tables already!) plus those suitcase style tables that fold out with 4 seats attached for £19, I think.

Re the saucepans, we have always taken ones from the kitchen but found that they take up an awful lot of room and we've been trying to save space so have recently bought an Outwell set.  It is non-stick, has 3 saucepans which are good sizes.  The largest is huge.  I agree with a previous post that many of the camping pan sets have ridiculously small pans.  It also comes with 3 frying pans/lids.  And you don't get any silly extras like cups which you probably don't need and therefore don't want to pay for.  We looked at loads of sets and this was definitely one of the best in our opinion and we got it for a good price - £27.99 from PJ Camping (Essex).  I'm putting this link for ABC on so that you can see it but I have to say, ABC don't have a good reputation on here so if you do want it you might want to consider finding it elsewhere!

Enjoy your camping!

The best frying pan we ever had was a Savers one from Asda.  So we just buy camping stuff from there, cheap and handy and very, very non stick.

Again, thanks for the comments.

Peachyclair, I happened to take OH to cinema at "Merry Hell" yesterday and we had a look around Asda. Ended up with a 24cm non-stick save frying pan for under £2.00 and two saucepans and lids for less than £6.00.

Also went to Blacks and bought a Trangia 1l Fuel carrier for £9.99

We also had a look around Decathlon. They had a fairly sturdy rectangular table for £9.99 that was also a decent height. OH has heart set on aluminium roll table so left it this time.

As an aside we also put the Montana tent up for the first time yesterday. Took 75 minutes and rained from the moment I opened the tent out. OH still enjoyed herself and kids thought the space inside was brilliant !!! Can't wait for the real run through !

i bought vango sleeping bags and hated them.  They were mummy bags which was too restricting and u cant easily launder then without special detergent. ( not good with kids)  I tried taking quilts but they got damp and were very cumbersome to pack.  This time iv got gelert xxl square bags for me and hubby and the junior ones for the kids.  They can b laudered in a washing machine and use ordinary detergent although sparingly and dry on the line.  These were plenty warm enough and we use raised beds cos airbeds go down no matter who makes em!! Good luck and happy camping
