Yet another problem as a beginner that i'm throwing at you guys (thanks for the help with the drop plate for tow bar)
I'm testing all the equipment before we travel to Bulgaria for obvious reasons and i'm having problems with this;
There's a 3 way electrolux 212A fridge in the caravan that works a treat off EHU. However when i take it off EHU and turn the switch to 12 v it goes warm. Shouldn't the big 110 amp battery i bought the other day kick in and keep things cold or do i have to switch to gas? Is the only function of the 12v switch to keep things cool when we're driving?
If this isn't the case can someone tell me what should be happening when i switch the fridge onto 12v on my drive?
Thanks for all the help so far, REALLY appreciated.

You can only use 12v while driving. The fridge is only powered via the 12S socket from the car. The van battery is only for lights, water pump etc. Anything more would soon kill it. If you have no EHU then you need to use gas for the fridge.
Thanks Kjell. We're taking her up to Loch Lomond this afternoon now the mechanic has been and a) confirmed what you said and b) fixed the very high tow ball and stabiliser. Can't wait for a proper little trip. Make a cup of tea and then come home. Just for the hell of it.

I bought a vineyard and orchard with regulated land (which means it can be built on ) for £5000 and the house i'm having built (with pool) will still make it an investment for under £40,000
We can live very comfortably there, it's a slower (warmer) pace of life and the Bulgarians are great.

Because my husband and i are both Coeliacs (pronounced silly yak) we're going to use the caravan as a gluten/wheat free snack bar until we raise the funds to open up a cafe out there. Then Coeliacs from all over the world can come and eat as there are only about 4 dedicated cafes in the world for people like us and it's really hard eating out, particularly if there's a language barrier.

what a lovely idea SillyYak. I am not a Coeliac but I wrote a series of articles about it last year, interviewed a lot of suffers and was very taken with the difficulties and the way people put up with it.
Good on yer.
------------- best cheers

Wow, thanks Frank. PM me if you want, i'd like to hear who you wrote for. Thanks for helping to highlight the cause, it's amazing how many people have never heard of it, (including myself before diagnosis).
