Hi all, we are looking at upgrading our inherited porta loo, the existing unit is an all in one affair, I see units these days have a separate waste tank for ease of emptying and even a top tank with flush, can anyone recomend a unit that they have used and are pleased with , I see a model by Fiamma with a 13litre tank but know nothing about the make or how well it works. Any info/recomendations would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Andy

Hi Andy, i am a newbie camper but i am going to purchase the one from Lidls for £29.99

http://www.lidl.co.uk/gb/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20060522.index

if they havent got them then it will be the Fiamma Bi-Pot 30 £39.99 from Camping & General. They are an excellant company who have shop or internet orders.

I have no recommendations of these as i have not used them before but ppl on the forum say that the stuff from Lidls is good and when i phone camping and general they said it was a good value toilet too...

Good luck

vicky

If you do decide to go for a Lidl one my only advice is to make sure you get there early.  These sort of things can be snapped up very quickly - and then appear on ebay shortly afterwards.  I think they open at 8.

Hi we have a Thetford 465 porta loo, it's excellent, quite expensive to buy but it's got a 21 litre waste tank, a waste level indicator and an electric flush which is really powerful. We are a family of 4 (2 young children) who use the portaloo night and day (only no 1's tho, unless the littleuns get caught short), so the 21 litre waste tank is ideal for us. we normally only need to empty it once on a 3 night trip.

I have heard ppl recommending the Fiamma Bi-Pot's, they come in 13 or 20 litre waste tank sizes, they have a manual flush.

Personally I think the Thetford Portaloos cannot be beaten, I like my little luxuries. But I suppose it all depends on what you need personally, if you will only be using it occasionaly (over night) then a smaller waste tank would be fine for you, you also need to decide if you want a manual or electric flush.

Hope that helps
