I have been looking at all the threads on Cobb vs Cadac but have convinced myself that neither will really do what I want. With the cadac I might as well take a griddle and a big pan for on top of my camp stove. With the Cobb I loose the convinience of gas but could use it as an oven. I don't like the fact the fat doesn't hit the coals though as thats where most of the BBQ flavour comes from.

So instead I have been looking at the Weber Q 100 and 200 series of gas BBQ's.

Please can you tell me if you have one and what you think of it? Is it easy to clean and transport? Any preference between the 100 and 200? I would love to take a 300 but it looks to big and doesn't seem to break down.

Any other cunning ideas?

Thanks,

Richard.

Hi

We had the same thought a little while ago.  We needed a new bbq for the garden and thought the Q could suit home and camping purposes. Have you seen them. The 100 is cute and I think would be ideal for picnics and camping but too small for general home use.  We have bought a 200.  It is very big and will take up a lot of boot space as much as a large tent.  I am not sure we would take it away with us for a short break but if going with friends might for a longer holiday. We have not used it yet.  British weather.  So can't comment on how good it is or how easy to clean.

I have a huuuuuge gas BBQ for home use  so the Q100 might do me just for camping.

Please can you tell me what the fat drips onto on the Q series? My current gas BBQ has a big stainless steel deflector so you get lots of nice smoke and a minimum of flare ups.
