we have a halogen heater that we used in the awning of our van but we would like to have a pitch without a ehu..so does anyone use the gas heaters in their tents ??? if so which ???
get a coleman blackcat , they take a C500 canister, last about 8 hours if you have it on all the time, which you wont as it takes about 15 mins to heat our tent, got my one from towsure (39.99).
It takes the same cartridge's as our stoves and does not take up loads of room. The only thing (as with all heater's) is keep your eye on it at all times. Shop around because I've seen it for as much as £70 but down to £30.
sorry if i am asking an obvious question. can you use any of these heaters inside a tent? it would be lovely to have some heating in case it was really cold but obviously safety comes first. I love the idea of being snug inside the tent and being able to extend the camping season but suppose we can just wear extra layers as I did when younger!
We have a sunngas heater that we use in the tent .Went for this one as we have 3 kids and it is very stable.Warms tent very quickly and doubles as a toaster with the use of some BQ tongs. Exellent value from argos £49.99.
We have bought a similar one to the sunngas - from acegadgets on ebay. Came in at less than £22 delivered. As martin says - very stable and warms tent pretty quickly.

I bought the same heater from the same seller, mines arrives tomorrow just in time for going away tomorrow night !
and you can pick up the same heater in a winfields for £39.99 !
As we've been gifted a couple of campingaz 907 cylinders - I ordered one of these and it arrived today.
It gives a powerful blast of heat. I wouldn't leave a gas heater on all night in a tent, but for taking the chill off in the evening I wouldn't have any worries.
i think depends on the size of your tent . we have a parabolic and one of those canister heaters. tried the canister heater in our frame tent and we were using a can of gas a day.which on site prices can work out quite expensive cos they always put the prices up knowing you will pay .used the parabolic at Easter and it was a good job we had that because it did go cold at night
We have one of those maxim gas heaters but didnt find it that good but oh said to go out and come in again then you notice the difference but it is better than no heat at all
We've got the parabolic one as well, it really throws some heat out, used it in the tent last week I had to turn it off after 15 min as we where to hot, it was the 2 element one though, it will be great in the trailer tent.
