Yes, it`s to do with the air temperature inside the airbed. Cold air contracts, warm air expands. An airbed on the cold ground will always feel less firm in the morning due to the air inside the airbed cooling.

Incidentally, on a very hot day it`s not unknown for airbeds to expand so much they burst. So if you`re camping in a heatwave it`s wise to let a little air out of the airbed in the mporning and top it up again at bedtime.

I thought this was going to be a mucky thread.

I do find floppiness in the morning a problem as well.  Also sometimes i find it like that when i get into bed at night!  i often ask DH to blow it up when he climbs in half sloshed fumbling around in the dark!!!!!!!!!!!!!
