Hi

im new to the site and am going camping for the first time since i have had my little girl. She has just turned one and i am not sure what to put her to sleep in. i have a travel cot but this seems alot of space consuming and hassle. Anyone got any ideas?.

I took my daughter (18 months) away for the first time a few weeks back, and used a my first ready bed.  I was the same as you and thought a travel cot would be a bit bulky.  I blew it up at home for her to try out first - she never slept in it here, but she seemed quite happy lying in it.  That way it wasn't too much of a shock when she saw it again.  Then while we were away, she slept in her grobag in the ready bed, and we had an extra blanket on hand which she didn't need.  My husband slept in with her (she's a daddy's girl!) in case there was a problem, but she was fine.  So I'd definitely recommend you use something like that.

We have one of these twin arc travel cots for our 1 year old, great if you want to save space as they pack down really small and are very sturdy..
