Are they thristy ? Nah, I just give ours a can of beer every hour or so and it doesn't grumble
Has anyone ever cooked a chicken on one ? if so how long would it actually take ? Depends - we've found dead ones cook quickest
Sorry, couldn't resist - I reeeeally must invest in a sense of humour one day...!
Right, sensible head on now... We've got a dual-burner gas BBQ at home with a 15kg butane bottle on it, and after using it quite a bit last summer, and over the last few weeks, there's still plenty of gas left in it.
Theoretically, you could use just the 1 bottle for the stove and the BBQ, but it means that you'd have to disconnect it from your trailer tent and attach it to your BBQ every time you want to use it (unless you've got an external gas BBQ point fitted to your trailer tent). If you've got the space, it's far easier to take a 2nd bottle to use for your BBQ (which would back-up as a spare incase your main bottle runs out of gas).
As for cooking chicken, I've not got a clue with a fixed time for it really - I expect it all depends on how many burners your BBQ has got etc. Just need to check it as you would do at home - checking that the juices run clear and not pink
