Vango Astral 350.

You can buy both LH and RH zip versions so that they zip together, or keep them separate.

Hi

I've also been looking at sleeping bags - I did look at the Astral 350 (though I think it was a Super) and it was very wide looking. I want a square bag for the extra leg room but not too much room (not sure if there can be too much room - but its supposed to be less warm than the mummy bags which I find too constricting).

I've since found on the internet Snugpak Navigator which packs down very small. Has anyone used that or know how it would compare to the Astral 350? (And it can be bought in left and right zips)

The standard Astral is 90cm wide, the super is 110cm wide.

The Vango Astral also comes in a double; it is not quite as pictured on websites as it has no hood and the zip does not extend around the foot area of the bag, but it is still an excellent buy

Take a look at

http://www.surplusandadventure.com/ishop/800/shopscr3346.html

The snugpac range packs down very small as well. Alternative is to buy a separate sleeping bag liner which can be VERY warm combined with most bags which normally leave you cold.
