Hi,

Kevin - you really are acting like a pillock.  We can all guess your motivation and you have lost credibilty and probably customers.  Yes - the deal may have seemed 'too good to be true' - but as proved by other posters, it was very easy to check out its legitimacy.

Thanks to you - a legitimate eBayer and provider of bargain items to this community has incurred a load of cost (which will have to be covered in the price of later sales) and frankly probably think it's not worth the effort anymore (which I suspect is your desired result).

So if you can no longer buy a cheap airbed from Sue - or have to pay an extra fiver (which is indirectly going to her soliciter) then you can thank yer old mate Kev.

Sue - just off to buy one of your coolbox transformers.

Cheers

Jeremy

I'm normally a happy camper - honestly!

This thread seems to have come full-circle and is now a witch-hunt for Kevin as opposed to a witch-hunt for Sue.

Not only do I take exception to the fact that he reported Sue in the first place, it's even more distasteful the gloating way in which it was done.  When you couple that with the fact that he's "in the trade" himself (whatever that means) and it's clear to see a motive for his actions.

That said, it probably is time to knock it on the head and I'm with exessexmum - let's call it quits now and let Sue deal with it herself (via legal channels if that's what she wants) - hopefully Kevin will grow some 's and apologise publicly as he was so keen to get all this aired on a public forum in the first place - doubt it though.

Like I said at the beginning - the conclusions he jumped to were based on ill-informed opinions that weren't factually based and relied on some very dodgy logic leading to spurious allegations being made against someone who, until very recently was not in a position to defend herself.  Now that she has a voice let's allow it to run its course and channel our energies into the more positive aspects of this site - whaddayasay?  Peace Out? (!)

I'm off to light my bong........

Hi

Yes i am in agreement with everyone, lets leave this as it is, Kevin had his say(which in my opinion was totally wrong) and Sue has replied so lets leave Sue to get on selling good gear on e bay at bargain prices and we will all be happy(well everyone except Kevin).

I thought i was doing everyone a favour when i put the item on in the first place

cheers

steve

hi

right lets get one thing straight i didnt say this stuff was stolen i said it might be and will check with coleman ie to protect you the general public i also said that if she has bought this at auction fair enough i said my concern was that it was all coleman product nothing else an as in the trade SELLING CAMPING EQUIPMENT  that the prices were lower than all retailers can buy and even as a wholesaler we could not buy and sell that cheap which suggested something was not right as we all know ebay is also a great place to sell dodgy gear i was simply checking with  coleman to see if any stock was reported stolen and as usual on this site everyone jumps to conclusion

if this sue bought her gear at auction i have no complaint  and appologise to her but i never said she was selling stolen gear

she has upset the trade as our season is very short and with more and more supermarkets cherry picking the industry it make trading very hard so may be her prices could have been a bit higher and then we would not have a complaint against her

also reason i have not responed sooner we are very busy at present as july and august is our height of our season after that we go in to melt down for the winter months

kevin

Hi Kevin

I think you had better read some of your earlier posts, eg goods coming out of the back door etc now that means you are insinuating that the goods are stolen.

nevermind at least you have made a response and a sort of an apology to Sue

I have just noticed your homepage and the online camping shop you are involved in so obviously you are in the trade.

Also a lot of people upset other trades by seeling items below trade prices but thats the way the cookie crumbles

cheers

steve

Now, now - calm down Kevin - your comment:

"as usual on this site, everyone jumps to conclusions" - I seem to recall that it was you jumping to conclusions in the first place that got you in this pickle - and now you're insulting the rest of the site to boot - blimey, you thought trade was bad - I predict it's about to get a whole lot worse!!

While you seem now to be claiming that you had our best interests at heart and were acting for the greater good (noble indeed) what you actually seemed to be doing was looking after your own interests (fair enough) and then crowing about it publicly in an attempt to damage a competitors sales / reputation (not fair enough).

If you can't buy and sell that cheap as a wholesaler and someone else can - maybe you're in the wrong trade (or just not very good at it).  When you say she has upset the trade, do you mean she's upset you (or are we about to be deluged with misguided posts from other traders telling us all how miffed they are that competition exists and someone else can offer a quailty product to consumers at prices they can only dream about?).

And excuse me but - "her prices might have been a bit higher and then we wouldn't have complained about her" - ????  How does this change your insinuation that it was the far more noble principle of selling allegedly stolen goods that was "concerning" you - not the prices?

Maybe in future if you ever feel like being the "people's champion" again, you'll keep it to yourself rather than spouting off on a public forum about how you're about to try and do somebody's legs.

Now, rant over, I'm back to my bong - luv ya really XX

If you look at Sue's feedback to date, she has sold just 466 items, nationwide, since July 05 And she has 'upset' your trade?  Some private sellers have sold more!

Thought that was a deep, ringing sound. Must have led an overly-sheltered life!

(Sorry to get off the issue here - no offence meant!)

Have you tried emailing the seller, shielsy? It might just be that she has none listed at the mo? Worth a try!
