Having bought the £34.99 Argos Double raised airbed with AC pump and inflated it. (Very comfortable indeed). The instructions say do not bounce on it which has greatly amused the other half. To what degree is bouncing a problem? I did notice that one good turn not only gets all the blankets, but potentially reduces my life expectancy as she falls off the edge.

Has anyone else had bought this item?

I bought the folding guest beds from Argos. Dead comfy and you're off the ground.  Only one problem - you cant sleep together - which is not a problem to some.

We've just got one and have to say that when we blew it up in the living room I was shocked by the size of it. Did think it was funny about not bouncing on it though, it wont make for a very romantic holiday

We got a queen sized sized airbed with a double raised mattress ( I mean it looks like it has two mattresses one on top of each other), for £20 off cybercheckout and it`s excellent.

Can someone tell me if this airbed from Argos can only be inflated by plugging into an electricity socket or can it be inflated using one of those electric pumps that plug into the cigarette holder in the car.  I would love one of these beds and looked at it today in Argos but it appears to me that you need to be near mains electricity to blow it up.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

I shouldn't worry to much, even if you don't have 'electricity' yourself, you'll always find a friendly fellow camper on E.H.U. who'll be happy to pump up your airbed for you...

P.S. If it's one with a 'built in' electric pump, that runs on batteries. Make sure you have a spare set of batteries, the pump really 'eats up' batteries!... They can still be pumped up using a 12v. mains operated (with rectifier) pump, so the above, still applies!...

there is a manual inflation valve on it so I assume it can be blown up that way it's very big though and it may take quite a time. I used mine for the first time last weekend in my ridgipod exelsior. it may be a squeeze in smaller pod as it's king size and at least treble thickness, it is however very comfortable.

Hi Donna,

I can definately confirm that the argos bed will inflate with a 12v car ciggie lighter plug pump. That was our  concern too so it was the very first thing we tested when we got ours home.

It inflated faster on the 12v than it did on the 240v. but be warned that the 12v pump adapters are smaller than the supplied mains ones.  Combining the adapters from both pumps solves the problem.

THE RESULTS

Being king size, it just fits into the 3 berth sleeping compartment of our sunncamp, it's about the same height of a normal divan which is great It remained inflated all weekend even with a pair of non lightweights doing some vigiourous bouncing ... (well...how else could we get on and off the darned thing if it filled the sleeping tent?)

For value for money, comfort and the fun factor, we give it 10/10.

We took ours with us last week, but we took the small Sunncamp, and the bed was too big! It was very comfy though. The next time, I'll use our Vario.
