Yes unless you want to have to shop every day!

Ours goes to France a couple of times a year (it's the older Combicool) and is a godsend, we often can't shop for up to three days so need to be able to store food.  We throw away much less than we did the time that we went without it.

It will take up a big chunk of your boot, but you can pack it full of kitchen gear whilst you are travelling and then un-pack it and fire it up when you get to the site.  You do not have to travel with it cold and plugged into a 12 volt supply for it to work well when you arrive.

You really can't beat cold beer!

Definitely a must specially if you want to bring back some French delicacies.  Worth their weight in gold.  Bought ours this year, used it on our France/Holland/France holiday and its going back again in 12 weeks.  Can'f recommend it highly enough.

So no real drawbacks except the size? IS it much larger than a cool box??

I will have to rush to the garage to compare sizes

A lot of french sites rent out fridges for 3 to 5 euros per night so if you dont have the space for a 3 way fridge it might be worth contacting the site to see if they rent fridges out.

Frosty beer sounds good.
