Having looked into this I think I will just take the portable tv. By the time I take the laptop, usb thingy & freeview box I will have used as much room as the tv.
I will just have to drop BIG hints to my OH & hope he lets me get a laptop with usb 2.0 Is there no way of adding one or converting (desperate measures now!!)

Hi Rosie, you can get a PCMCIA card that plugs into the CardBus slot on your laptop which will give you 2 USB 2.0 ports. Belkin make them and they cost just over £20. The digital TV stick costs about £30, so for just over £50 you should be able to get digital TV on your laptop. Unless anyone knows otherwise
