Help pleased. just booked for Two Mills and really looking forward to it but they said all pitches are pea gravel on something I didn't understand.

Any tips/advice as we have a Vango Venture 500 with sig should we take a ground sheet to put under it?Will the gravel damage the SIG and porch groundsheet?

Sorry never done hardstanding before.

they should give you some special carpet type stuff to put under the tent.

give them a ring and ask them to clarify.

Never fancied hardstanding pitches myself ! but if you really want to ,I would take a couple of old thick blanket to shove under the groundsheet ( just through them away after ) Also you will need rock pegs , and take some flips flops or slippers or something .

I'd cancel and book somewhere else. Can't beat grass for camping in tents.

Beware if yuo have rigid campbeds - the metal bar 'foot' on one of ours put a hole in the SIG of our tent...

We stayed on one of those pea gravel pitches for a couple of nights this week. We put a thick tarpaulin under our SIG and we were ok. When we lifted the tarp it was lovely and clean underneath, but to be honest I wouldn`t like to camp on pea gravel all the time, as I am convinced eventually it would ruin your tarp and SIG.

Saw on the review board on this website a couple of tenter's reviews and they seemed to be fine.

Thanks for all the advice...we have bought a tarp.

Mind you I noticed they have all weather pitches with grass next to them for parking the car so we may swap and park car on hard standing and pitch on grass... sounds like a plan.
