Hi-what stove would you seasoned campers out there recommend for a 2 week camping trip to France..family of 4. Not sure whether to go for a campinggaz 2 ring burner or coleman stove...is there much difference in how quickly they cook things and the amount of kit/ room they take up?

Thanks for any advice

Huge difference - the Coleman is like a jet engine compared to the 4-cylinder effort provided by Campinggaz.

Coleman:  no large bulky gas cylinders to cart around (just a couple of 1 litre fuel bottles), packs up small, economical (so you use less fuel in the first place and what you do use is much cheaper to buy), fuel readily available from any garage, more powerful and packs up real small.

Take my advice, go for the Coleman every time (but then I'm biased and there'll be loads of people on here to tell you the opposite!!).

Buy the JML hob top grill and griddle which fits over both burners perfectly for a fiver and you've converted it into a BBQ / Hotplate.

you can get the jml griddle from woolworths, its not a perfect fit, we use a couple of large bulldog clips to hold in place. the coleman is very very good, cheap to run, and boils a kettle in no time.

and of course petrol is available anywhere.
