I'm in the market for a table to cook on. I have 2 portable stoves (the ones that pack up into a plastic box) and I'm wondering what to buy.

I have seen the "camping kitchen stands", but think I would prefer a proper table as it would more versatile i.e. usable for other things. Therefore, I could get a plastic "heat-resistant" one or a rectangular/square aluminium roll top one.

Would these be suitable for cooking on....or should I invest in a camp kitchen stand.

BTW: I already have a blue plastic folding table and chairs - well it keeps the kids happy

I bought a table from Decathlon for £9.95, and thats what we'll be putting our stove on!! Well worth a look!!

I use a wallpaper table that has a very strong top and metal frame and legs.  It folds in half and the legs tuck inside, so it sits very flat in the boot. Homebase £20, cheaper than a kitchen unit and comes in handy for all kinds of things!

To stop my stove slipping I use a length of that rubbery mesh which is brilliant
